Stromboli Movie Poster 2The Birthplace Of The World’s First Stromboli!

Romano’s Stromboli, which was originated in 1950 by Nazzereno Romano in Essington, PA, received the name “STROMBOLI” from William Schofield who was inspired by the 1950 movie “STROMBOLI” which starred Ingrid Bergman and was directed by Roberto Rossellini.

The sandwich has since grown in popularity and is almost synonymous with Pizza and Sub shops.

Never the less “STROMBOLI” owes its name and reputation to the Original Romano’s Stromboli… and me.
